Much missed, he was brilliant. Loved him as 'Colin Grigson' in Bad News.

Dominic Raab looks uncannily like him and is probably just as right-wing as Alan B'Stard.

University Challenge is still a great sketch.
Who is the worlds most stupidest bottom burp?
Rik, Britain.

Re: Rik Mayall died five years ago today
Ironically I found Mayall himself quite funny but never any of the stuff he did. Never got into all that new stuff at the time like Young Ones, Bottom, Comic Strip etc but found him an extremely likeable fella and far too young.

Any comedian who tries to smoke a tampon (thinking its a spliff) is alright by me

The “Rik” character from Young Ones is still alive and personified by thousands of living individuals who just post outrage on Twitter all day.

He’ll never die.

The young ones was so refreshing , anarchy . The thing is you had to be at a certain age to have really appreciated it. It was the sort of programme you went to work next day and spoke about a particular piece . The opening poster is so right , he was an absolute master. I think his quad bike accident had more affect on his health than realised. "Neil your bedroom's on fire "

Another fan of FRACF here, the Trivial Pursuit episode is some of my all time favourite comedy. Also loved The Dangerous Brothers. Their 'torture' sketch still has me in tears whenever i watch it on youtube.

Bottom was genius imho. I never realised they'd written a fourth series but the BBC in their infinite wisdom decided not to take it on.

Fast forward a few years and we have Miranda and citizen khan
